of Victorian/Edwardian era costumes through community fashion shows."
For over 25 years, the Royal Victorian Fashion Society has delighted audiences throughout southern Vancouver Island with their informative Victorian-Edwardian fashion shows. Filled with stunning costumes, beautiful hats and interesting "snippets" of historical information from the Victorian/Edwardian era, our shows bring back to life the golden age of elegance in fashion, manner and grace that so depicted the Victorian/Edwardian age.
A Royal Victorian Fashion Society Show is a popular "special event" choice for many organizers of charity, church and community fund raising events. Including a Victorian era fashion show with an "afternoon tea party" virtually guarantees an enthusiastic audience of senior citizen facility residents and their families, out-of-town conference/event attendees or volunteers enjoying a "volunteer appreciation day" event. Our models truly enjoy showing off their beautiful dresses or sharing a "quick peek" at the hems of their fancy petticoats for members of private or community based organizations. Including a fun and delightful fashion show in your private function... a retirement, birthday or graduation celebration... can make the day truly memorable.
We are a non profit, member run organization. As a volunteer organization, we depend on the goodwill, support and active participation of our members. Each of our fashion show models, commentators and dressers graciously volunteer their time to participate in our fashion shows throughout the community. They are proud of their Victorian era costumes (many of which are drafted from "scratch", assembled and sewn by the model herself) and take great pleasure in playing "dress up" to show them off to you and your guests.
A treasured comment...
from a 104 year young resident of a Victoria retirement home to one of our show commentators sums up the experience of attending one of our recent fashion shows ....
"Thank you for coming today. I remember my mother, sister and I wearing beautiful clothes like you. We always looked so elegant. As I listened to you, I remembered the days we went swimming at the Gorge or went on a Sunday afternoon picnic in Beacon Hill Park. I even remembered when we didn't have cars in Victoria. Thank you for making this day so special for me and bringing back those wonderful memories."
We hope you enjoy discovering all the information we have gathered together for you on our website. Thank you for stopping by for a visit today. We are glad you are here!
